Debit Cards

What is a Visa Debit Card?

A Visa Debit Card is tied to a customer's designated account and is accepted anywhere Visa is accepted. A debit card can be used to make a purchase or to withdraw money from an ATM. When making a purchase, the consumer can use their Personal Identification Number (PIN) or sign the receipt. No bill is generated; the funds are removed from the designated account. Benefits of the Visa Debit Card include:

  • Visa Debit Cards are accepted almost anywhere
  • It works just like a check, only with nothing to write, no waiting time for approval, and no ID necessary
  • The purchase amount is deducted directly from your checking account
  • Access funds in accounts at any ATM
  • And much more!

Who is the Visa Debit Card for?

Visa Debit Cards are perfect for customers who like the convenience of a credit card but do not want to get a bill every month. Transactions are charged to the customer's checking account immediately. It is also perfect for customers who cannot get to the bank during normal business hours.

What does a Visa Debit Card cost?

There are no service charges for withdrawals at a Newfield National Bank ATM. For any ATM other than a Newfield National Bank ATM, a service charge of $3.00 is imposed.

How do I apply for a Visa Debit Card?

To apply for a Visa debit card please complete an application from the links below and bring the completed application in person to your local branch office. Mailed applications will not be accepted.

What is done if a Visa Debit Card has suspicious activity on it?

You may wish to add this phone number to your contacts list so that you recognize the number in the event you received such a call.

Protect Your Account Against Fraud

24/7 Protection.

To protect your account, we monitor your ATM and debit card transactions for potentially fraudulent activity which may include a sudden change in locale (such as when you travel out-of-state or overseas), a sudden string of costly purchases, or any pattern associated with new fraud trends around the world. If we suspect fraudulent ATM or debit card use, we’ll be calling you to validate the legitimacy of your transactions. Your participation in responding to our call is critical to prevent potential risk and avoid restrictions we may place on the use of your card.

  • You’ll be able to respond via your touchtone keypad.

  • Our automated call will ask you to verify recent card transactions.

Our goal, quite simply, is to minimize your exposure to risk and the impact of any fraud. To ensure we can continue to reach you whenever potential fraud is detected, please keep us informed of your correct phone number and address at all times. Also add our Fraud department’s number to your phonebook for easier recognition.
Stay Informed.

Protect Yourself.

In the meantime, please be diligent in monitoring transaction activity on your account and contact us immediately if you identify any fraudulent transactions.
Here are some additional tips on protecting yourself from debit card fraud.

Your PIN is private; NEVER give it out!

  1. Unless absolutely required for a legitimate business purpose, avoid giving out your:
    • Social Security number
    • Date of Birth
    • Address and ZIP code
    • Phone number
    • Card or account number
    • Card expiration date
  2. In stores and at ATMs, always cover your card and PIN, and watch for:
    • Cell phone cameras, mirrors, or other tools used to view cards and PINs
    • People watching your transactions
    • Cashiers taking your card out of sight; take it to the register yourself
    • Any unusual activity at ATMs; if you feel uncomfortable, go to another ATM
  3. Online, you should never respond to unsolicited emails that:
    • Ask you to verify your card or account number; such emails are not sent by legitimate businesses
    • Link to websites; such sites can look legitimate but may collect data or put spyware on your computer

As always if you have any questions feel free to contact a Debit Card Coordinator at
